We are seeking 2 experienced Pumpmen to join our Marine Services Division at the Jubail Seaport, Saudi Arabia. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within the marine sector. As a Pumpman, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of barge pumps and valves. Responsibilities
As a Pumpman in the Marine Services Division, your role will involve the following core responsibilities:
- Pump and Valve Operations:
- Operate and maintain the barge pumps and valves on site. You will be expected to have a deep understanding of these systems and how they function during loading and discharging operations.
- Regularly monitor the pumps’ condition to ensure they are working efficiently, and troubleshoot issues if they arise.
- System Setup:
- Line up the system on the barge for loading and discharging operations. This includes preparing the necessary equipment and ensuring that everything is in place for safe and smooth operations.
- Start and stop pumps as needed, ensuring that all procedures are followed according to safety and operational guidelines.
- Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Constantly monitor the pumps to ensure they operate within required parameters.
- Report any issues, perform minor repairs, or assist in troubleshooting to maintain pump functionality.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines while operating the pumps.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisors and help facilitate repair or maintenance as needed.
- Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with other crew members and supervisors. Basic knowledge of English communication is required to coordinate with the team.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are required:
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Technical Certifications:
- Candidates must have a valid STCW II/5 OR III/5 certification, which demonstrates their competency in marine operations.
- Good knowledge and familiarity with barge pumps, valves, and related operations.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pump operations, preferably in the marine industry. Experience working on barge pumps and valves is highly preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Basic English communication skills are necessary to understand safety protocols and communicate effectively with the team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
- Age:
- Applicants should be between the ages of 30-50 years old.
