1. Introduction to the Job
This is a key role in our team where the Cost Estimator will oversee the pre-bid cost estimation activities for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the project management and procurement teams, ensuring that accurate cost estimates are generated for all aspects of the project, including civil works, MEP systems, and infrastructure utilities.
You will be instrumental in preparing cost estimates, analyzing construction drawings, reviewing BOQs (Bills of Quantities), and ensuring all costs are within the project’s budget. 2. Responsibilities
As a Cost Estimator, your main responsibilities will include:
- Pre-Bid Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed pre-bid cost estimates for commercial building projects, roads, and infrastructure, considering all aspects of the MEP systems.
- Analysis of Specifications and Drawings: Review project specifications, drawings, and related documents to fully understand the scope of work and identify potential cost-related risks.
- BOQ and Tender Analysis: Analyze and verify BOQ, tender drawings, specifications, and conditions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Cost Calculation: Use your knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and current market rates to create accurate cost breakdowns.
- Bid Document Review: Review and analyze RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and RFPs (Requests for Proposals) to ensure clarity on the project scope, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Coordination with Vendors and Subcontractors: Evaluate and negotiate vendor bids and subcontractor proposals, ensuring they are competitive and in line with project requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed records of all cost estimates, assumptions, and supporting data throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reporting: Generate periodic reports comparing estimated costs against actual costs and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Software Proficiency: Use industry-standard software like AutoCAD, Revit, and PlanSwift for quantities take-off and cost estimation.
- Value Engineering: Conduct value engineering studies to suggest cost-effective alternatives that align with client budgets.

- Experience: A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in cost estimation for commercial building projects in Saudi Arabia, with a strong focus on MEP systems.
- Saudi Experience: At least 3–4 years of experience in bidding for commercial projects in Saudi Arabia, specifically in MEP systems.
- Technical Skills:
