The primary responsibility of the Cost Estimator is to ensure that all construction activities—particularly in civil, architectural, and structural work—are executed efficiently and within budget. You will use your expertise to prepare detailed cost estimates for both building projects and infrastructure developments, ensuring the projects align with budget expectations, timelines, and quality standards.

- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed pre-bid cost estimates for building projects and roads, infrastructure, and utility services. Analyze cost breakdowns for both direct and indirect expenses, considering both project scope and change orders.
- Bid Analysis: Examine bid documents, RFQs (Request for Quotation), and RFPs (Request for Proposal). Address any clarifications required and adjust bids accordingly. Review and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with the project budget.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Engage with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain and compare quotations. Negotiate on both technical and commercial aspects to get the best prices while maintaining quality standards.
- Value Engineering: Based on client budget constraints, perform value engineering studies to identify cost-effective alternatives without compromising the project’s integrity.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of the cost estimation process, including records of supplier data, market rates, and negotiations. This will assist the procurement and execution teams in carrying out the project effectively.
- Software Proficiency: Use software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Plan Swift for estimating quantities, preparing cost breakdowns, and analyzing project specifications.
