Our company is seeking a skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position involves providing engineering analysis and technical support for project planning and operations. You will be responsible for system modeling, developing tools for monitoring and control, conducting system studies, analyzing operating results, and reporting findings with recommendations.
Job Responsibilities
- Planning and Scheduling: Perform all required planning and scheduling tasks for the project as directed by the Project Manager.
- Master Program Preparation: Prepare and review the project master program. Assess and approve the baseline schedule submitted by the contractor, considering labor, equipment, materials, and cash flow needs.
- Design Input: Assist with planning input on market/protocol design issues.
- Planning Studies: Conduct planning studies and sensitivity analyses to evaluate proposed projects, with technical and financial analyses.
- EoT Claims: Review and endorse Extension of Time (EoT) claims submitted by contractors.
- Mentorship: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior engineers/analysts and act as a mentor to less experienced team members.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with multi-functional teams to gather input, address feedback, and perform studies.
- Process Improvement: Help develop tools, processes, and procedures to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Reporting: Assist in managing reports on contractor delays, propose corrective actions, and track project progress.
- Visual Aids and Monitoring: Produce visual aids (bar charts, network diagrams) to explain project timelines and monitor progress at various stages.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the entire project schedule and coordinate various project design and construction stages effectively.
- Quality Support: Collaborate with the Quality Department for audits and compliance.
- Business Development Support: Assist in Business Development and Tender Management activities as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 5-6 years in a planning engineering role, preferably in project management.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of project scheduling, planning tools, and techniques.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Strong Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Leadership: Mentorship and team leadership skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: QAR 5,001 to QAR 10,000 per month.
- Location: Doha, Qatar.
- Full-Time: Permanent position.
