We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for an exciting office fit-out construction project located in Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This project involves the civil engineering aspects of transforming office spaces to meet client requirements. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with specific expertise in commercial office fit-out projects. As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of the project on time, within budget, and in compliance with all local regulations and safety standards.

The position requires an individual who is capable of managing various project stakeholders, handling on-site activities, and contributing to the overall project’s design and execution. This is a full-time role with direct reporting to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Design
   • Review Project Plans: Ensure that the project plans, designs, and specifications meet the client’s requirements and align with local building codes and standards.
   • Assist in Design Process: Collaborate with the design team to provide feedback on the feasibility of designs, focusing on efficiency, constructability, and compliance with civil engineering best practices.
2. Site Management
   • Supervision: Oversee all civil engineering activities and ensure that work is executed according to the approved designs, specifications, and timelines.
   • Coordinate with Contractors: Work with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and workflow on-site.
   • Monitor Construction Progress: Ensure that work progresses according to the planned schedule and resolve any site-related issues that arise.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
   • Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that all construction activities comply with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
   • Materials Quality: Ensure that all materials used in the project meet required quality standards and are approved by the project management team.
   • Risk Management: Identify any potential issues early and work to resolve them before they cause delays or exceed the budget.
4. Budget & Cost Control
   • Budget Monitoring: Work with the project team to manage and track the civil engineering aspects of the project’s budget.
   • Cost Monitoring: Ensure that project costs remain within budget by regularly monitoring expenses and addressing any discrepancies.
   • Regular Updates: Provide regular updates on the progress of the project, addressing any potential delays, budget variances, and other challenges to the project team.
5. Health & Safety
   • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with Saudi Arabia’s safety regulations and company safety policies.
   • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and actively participate in safety meetings to promote a safe working environment for all team members.
6. Stakeholder Communication
   • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with the project team, clients, contractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
   • Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically in office fit-out or commercial construction projects.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD and MS Office for design and documentation.
  • Excellent understanding of Saudi Arabia’s local building codes and construction regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple disciplines and stakeholders effectively.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and Arabic (written and spoken) is required.
• Certification: A PMP certification is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions

• The position will be based on-site in Khafji, requiring a significant amount of time managing and overseeing construction activities.
• Some travel between the project site and Kuwait may be required, as well as occasional meetings with stakeholders.
