We are looking for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Salmabad, Bahrain. Responsibilities
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting department in various daily tasks. Your main duties will include:
- Handling Petty Cash & Bank Reconciliation: Ensure that petty cash is properly managed and reconcile bank statements with company records.
- Fund Transfers: Process and monitor different types of fund transfers, including bank transfers, cheques, cash, and wire transfers.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable (bills and payments to suppliers) and receivables (money owed to the company).
- Balance Sheet Preparation: Support the preparation of the company’s balance sheet and ensure that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Internal Audits: Help with preparing documents and reports for internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports for the accounting department, including presentations, flowcharts, and other relevant financial data.
- VAT Filing: Assist in preparing and filing VAT returns according to local tax regulations.
- Task Management: Be efficient and task-oriented, handling day-to-day operations with a focus on accuracy and deadlines.
Your role will also include other accounting-related tasks, as needed, to support the senior team members and ensure smooth financial operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) is required.
- Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field. Previous experience with joinery or trading companies will be a plus.
- Software Skills: Experience with ERP systems is highly preferred, particularly Diamond software. If you have experience with other accounting software, that will also be considered.
- VAT Experience: Experience with VAT filing and understanding of Bahrain’s VAT regulations is highly advantageous.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be under 30 years old.
- Location: This role is open to candidates who are already residing in Bahrain and are available to join immediately.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other basic accounting tools.
